Validation planning & technical review

Know what the evidence supports. Plan what comes next.

Build a useful connection between an engineering claim and the test that can support it. We help teams review assumptions, choose references and define evaluation criteria before investing in a larger simulation, prototype or experimental programme.

When to bring us in

Questions worth
answering early.

Scope of work

What we can work on together.

01

Review the claim and its basis

Trace the result back to the model, data, method and conditions. Distinguish measured observations, calculated outputs and estimates, and identify missing or conflicting evidence.

02

Define comparisons and criteria

Choose an appropriate reference method and agree the metrics, test cases and tolerances. For simulation or AI-assisted models, consider held-out cases, boundary information and behaviour outside the intended domain.

03

Plan the next validation gate

Prioritize tests by the uncertainty they resolve. Define what constitutes a useful result, how failures will be recorded and what must be demonstrated before committing to the next development step.

Example scope

Review a field-prediction result against its reference solver, document supplied boundary information and test cases, then define the evidence needed for a broader design use case.

What you receive

Work your team
can take forward.

We agree the deliverables and working formats when defining the scope.

  • An evidence and assumptions register showing the basis and limits of the reviewed claims.
  • An evaluation protocol with reference methods, test cases, metrics and agreed acceptance criteria.
  • A prioritized validation plan, including dependencies and recommendations to proceed, revise or investigate further.

Getting started

Bring the question.
And what you know.

Start with the inputs you have. We can identify gaps together.

  • The claim or development decision to assess and the intended operating context.
  • Models, reports, source data, test results and the reference methods currently used.
  • Available equipment or test partners, practical constraints and the next decision the evidence must inform.

Using the results

A result is useful when its conditions are clear.

Simulation comparisons, physical measurements and application validation answer different questions. The review keeps those distinctions explicit and includes results that miss the agreed criteria. Certification, clinical studies and accredited testing need their own scope and qualified delivery partners.
