Investigating photonic glucose sensing

We are asking whether an optical approach can contribute to glucose measurement. So far our work covers optical feasibility and chip design. The measurement goal gives the engineering a concrete question; it is not yet a working glucose monitor.

Compact by intention

Miniaturization, non-invasive measurement and wearable formats are intended directions. Reaching them would require evidence about sample interaction, signal stability, calibration, power and integration. The illustrations on this site are concepts, not photographs of available hardware.

From intended use to testable requirements

Measurement context

Define the sample, operating environment and relevant sources of variation.

Reference measurement

Specify how an optical estimate would be compared with a suitable reference under stated conditions.

Repeatability

Evaluate stability across repeated measurements before extending claims to a wider use context.

Bring a measurement question

A useful technical discussion starts with the intended measurement, the reference it needs and the experiment that could challenge the hypothesis. If you have such a question, we would like to hear it.
